Celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori with us

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) will be held from 14-20 September and we are encouraging our alumni and friends to download the University’s Te Kūaha app, to learn te Reo Māori. In this article Professor Cynthia Kiro, Pro Vice-Chancellor Māori, talks about the University’s ambitious plan to promote and use te reo Māori within our community.

Season of Creation – Jubilee for the Earth

This year, the theme for the season is “Jubilee for the Earth”. We invite you to consider the integral relationship between rest for the earth and ecological, economic, social and political ways of living. This particular year, the need for just and sustainable systems has been revealed by the far-reaching effects of the global COVID pandemic.

This guide will help you learn about the season and plan to celebrate it. More resources, including webinars and prayer services, a Facebook group, and photos, are available online. Please visit to access all the materials.

Eco Church NZ

The Eco Church NZ Project is a bold new initiative of A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand to support churches to actively care for God’s earth as an integral part of their mission. Check it out here.

We are responding to three biblical challenges:

  1. Living a faithful life – following Jesus

  2. Loving our neighbours in a resource-limited world

  3. Reflecting and protecting the glory of God
